icethesite – twitter offerings – Elaine Paige and 10th Anniversary Mamma Mia!

Also, here’s an appeal!

I’ll be having another ‘I Was There’ article on icethesite for anyone attending the Mamma Mia! 10 years anniversary of the stage show in London on Monday – please, if you’re going along, feel free to update those not fortunate enough to be attending (like me!) with what’s going on.

You can use the comments facility on the site (like those attending the Mamma Mia! movie premiere did) or, alternatively, you can use the icethesite twitter channel.

It’s sure to be a great night for star spotting and of course, reveling in what is an amazing achievement – 10 years in the West End! I, and others hope to hear from you…

  1. I have a ticket for Monday and am so very excited but it seems to have been almost underplayed so far. I mean not only is it 10 incredible years for Mamma Mia but also 35 years to the day since "Waterloo". Any ideas/rumours as to what we lucky ones can hope for on the night?

  2. PS Great photo of you and Benny on Twitter but dont worry if you think you look like a goon I can assure you that I would have been on the floor!

  3. I too will be there on Monday night – it should be a great atmosphere. Really looking forward to it whatever happens.

  4. I hear from a member of the cast that they are busy rehearsing something special for the night. Apparently the star of the night will be the musical and not celebrities – not many big names have been invited but it promises to be a special night. Will be on the Front row so very excited. J-ase

  5. It looks like most of the audience will be busy texting in reports to Ice in the interval!
The only celebrities we would want to see are any ABBA members turning up so its good to hear from J-ase that the cast are possibly doing something special for the night (the deleted Summer Night City scene?). As the show gets everyone into party mood on a normal night it should be an electric performance when the evening is given over to celebrate one of the biggest musicals of all time. I was lucky enough to see the show on the film premiere night and as I wrote on this site the cast gave the strongest performance I had seen of the show and I fully believe that the entire cast will again rise to the challenge and give a showstopping powerhouse performance which I am really looking forward to (although if Frida is there and wants to say hi I am in the Stalls row S!)
