Finns could be better for Kristina från Duvemåla

The majority of potential principal peformers in the Helsinki run of Kristina från Duvemåla (opening in February 2012) are Swedish, not Finnish says an article published today.

Out of around 600 applications, only 100 are from Finland. Finland’s Svenska Teatern states that it would be great if the voices of Finland could be heard. The deadline for applications is 10 September 2010 and it is mentioned that bass voices in particular are in short supply.

Benny and Björn will personally oversee the auditions starting in November, when the crucial decisions as to who will play the main characters begins.

  1. Is it really true that there will not be any auditions to Kristina in Sweden?! Please tell me it’s wrong!!! :'(

  2. The opening night is planned for 29 February 2012 and Benny has said that tickets may go on sale 12 months ahead of that.
