Thank You For The Music... A Celebration Of The Music Of Abba will be held in Hyde Park on 13 September.

Hosted by Radio 2, the show will see guest vocalists performing songs from the Swedish band's back catalogue.

"This must be the greatest honour that can be bestowed on any songwriter," said the duo in a statement.

"We are absolutely delighted and we hope thousands of Radio 2 listeners will join us there."

The line-up for the show is yet to be announced.

As part of BBC Radio 2’s commitment to offering the best live music performances to its audience, the network will join forces with songwriters, producers and former members of the world renowned Swedish pop group Abba, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, to host ‘Thank You For The Music...A Celebration Of The Music Of Abba’ in London’s Hyde Park on Sunday 13th September.

The concert will include exclusive live performances from an array of stars of some of Benny and Bjorn’s most famous songs from their days as of one of the world’s greatest pop bands, to music from their recent offerings in Musical Theatre and Folk.

Benny and Bjorn comment “Great Britain has always welcomed us with open arms and this must be the greatest honour that can be bestowed on any song writer. A concert devoted to our music in London's Hyde Park! We are absolutely delighted and we hope thousands of Radio 2 listeners will join us there.”

Lewis Carnie, Head of Programming for Radio 2, says "We are thrilled that we are able to work so closely with Benny and Bjorn - two songwriters who have produced some of the most famous songs in pop music. It will be a fantastic event for friends and families."
