ABBAWORLD to premiere at Earls Court...(Updated)

Fully approved and supported by ABBA, ABBAWorld will make its stunning, sequin spangled, world debut in London at Earls Court on 27 January 2010.

The hugely interactive experience will take visitors on a mind-blowing journey through ABBAWorld’s 25 rooms, bursting with exclusive music, footage, images and never-before-displayed memorabilia from the personal collections of the world’s most cherished pop icons; Agnetha, Benny, Björn and Frida.

An engaging introductory movie by critically acclaimed film director, Jonas Åkerlund, will start the experience and a free audio guide will move visitors through the magical space at their own pace.

The phenomenon of ABBA will be brought to life with interactive highlights including ‘Perform with ABBA’ which will allow fans to get up on stage with their idols, as part of a stunning 3D holographic illusion. ‘Tretow MIX Challenge’ - a chance to mix things up and re-create the ABBA sound, the ‘ABBA Quiz’ which will test fans knowledge. There is also the opportunity to Sing-A-Long and dance with ABBA, plus a chance for fans to see themselves as part of an ABBA video.

Better still, as part of the ticket, all interaction will be recorded so people can choose to access it later online at www.abbaworld.com, allowing their experience to live on and on, just like the music. On entry to ABBAWorld, guests will have their photograph taken, this will appear during a number of the interactive features; fans will see themselves as part of ABBA album covers, posters and other iconic pictures.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday 3rd December 2009 and are priced at £22.00 / £19.50 (subject to booking fee) and are available from www.livenation.co.uk

  Just had to comment about this, we have been looking forward to this event for a long time, so pleased that this is opening in London, 2009 has been an ABBAsolute brilliant year for everything ABBA especially with being able to go to thankyou for the music in Hyde park and now 2010 will start with what will be a fantastic event at Earls court. We are already off work that day so hopefully we will be there on opening day, I wonder if any of the ABBA members will be there to open it, I hope so, I would like to meet them. This will be the ABBA event of 2010.

  I still have a bad feeling about this whole enterprise, though that won't stop me from going. Wasn't this supposed to be in "Central London" in "Autumn"? It's now in West London in Winter.

  Yes your right it was planned in central London in autumn. But it is coming and taht is all what counts. Members of the ABBA fanclub have the preview on the 23rd of januari. Personly I can't wait to see it. In the extra magazine which we made for ABBA world you can read how to buy tickets for this event. And we have also tickets for the premiere. London here we come.

  I'm very excited about this, but the whole thing has been a shambles so far, Hope it exceeds our expectations, but you just know, when you go all the promised exhibitions will be 'out of order'! haha. It's a shame all the fans who had tickets for the Stockholm opening aren't being offered priority booking though.

  The event has featured on BBC teletext news and several ticket agency emails highlighted the event.
  
  The problem I see with earls court is that it is a place you go to when you need to, there are not any other tourist sites nearby so they are unlike to get passing trade and people dropping in which they would have done if they had been able to get a central London site. No newspaper coverage as far as I know.
  Ents24.com email was a bit more inventive that most with the ABBA theme as below!
  "From 27 January, Abba fans will get the chance to say 'Thank You For The Music' as they immerse themselves in a new interactive exhibition at Earls Court. At Ents24, of course, live entertainment is always The Name of The Game. With hundreds of events in your area every week, why not Take A Chance? It needn't cost you much Money Money Money for a great night out, and, who knows - you might meet a Dancing Queen or a Man After Midnight! "

  Guys, trust the ABBA Fan Club on this one - it is going to be so much fun, and every penny of your entry ticket for the special fan club preview day will be worth its money in gold.
  
  I know, the first lot who wanted to get this show on the road was total crap - but the present lot is BRILLIANT. You're just gonna love it!

  I quite like the fact that different items will be shown in London compared to other items shown in Australia or other venues as it keeps interest going and gives fans in various locations unique items to see.

  The fan club this week sent out a special edition of the magazine to fans with details inside of how to get tickets to the special preview day and it's also mentioned on the fan club website.
  It does say tickets are limited and to fans of long standing membership only(i'm guessing this means membership of a certain period of time).I know several tickets have already been allocated to fans.

  I also received this Fan Club Special, but it is NOT stated that only Fan Club members with a certain period of membership time can apply for ticktes on the 23rd!
  
  It is stated that one member can reserve two tickets. The tickets are issued on a "first come, first served" basis. And you need to have ordered your ticket in advance, it cannot be ordered at the venue.
  
  Please correct me if I'm wrong!

  Friday 4th of December and the Daily mail newspaper has a full colour full page advert for Abba World.
  Several snipets about it in the papers over last few days and even more ticket agency emails have had the event as this weeks hot ticket over and above listings of several other major tours of current stars!
  One email carried a video link which said it was the official trailer but was a real 30 second mess however it did lead into several others on You Tube from the BBC and CNN which show the World being built and give mini tours of the layout and what to expect.
  The first t-shirts have gone on sale on the Abbaworld site and are a bit steep but looks like there will be plenty to buy at the event.
  Not sure about it changing for country to country unless they are minor items . I dont want to miss seeing the Arrival white jumpsuits, 1975/1977/1979 tour gear.

  the 'Daily Mirror', & a full page advert in
  the 'Daily Mail'.
  
  However - I was a bit mortified to see that
  they had called the 'Tretow Mix Challenge',
  the 'Trewtow Mix Challenge', in both Adverts -
  thus mispelling his name! A rather avoidable
  mistake,really.....

  The exhibition isn't taking place in either of the main halls 1 or 2: it's taking place in the Museum hall which has its own entrance so shouldn't be affected by any event - hopefully!!

  Just released from Touring Exhibitions, "London, 20 January 2010: ABBA Mania will hit London next week with the highly anticipated 'Arrival' of ABBAWORLD at Earls Court. To add to the excitement, band members and living legends, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus will start the celebrations off in style as they step onto the red carpet and into ABBAWORLD, at the world premiere, Earls Court, Tuesday 26 January 2010." The full story is on ABBAworld site but I am a bit disappointed as the Museum opens on the 27th and have tickets for this date, I can't get to London on the 26th and don't have tickets for the world premiere, would it not have been better for the ABBA members to appear on the Wednesday?
