As well as the movie, of course, Benny also discusses the "dream machine", his £25,000 Yamaha GX1 (heard all over the later ABBA albums) and using Led Zeppelin's strings program.

Mamma Mia! Film reviews and related articles

What are coming in now are serious movie reviews, rather than reviews of the premiere and premiere audiences. They're a mixed bunch (as reviews involving anything ABBA usually are) and some are downright vitriolic.

The publicity and the public will ultimately determine the success of the movie and so I've not shyed away from displaying links to less than glowing reviews (as well as the raves - although few and far between), they're part of the Mamma Mia! story too despite making uncomfortable reading for fans and the production team alike. What will make far more comforting reading will probably be the box office receipts, I'd wager.

It's not my intention to list every single movie review from around the world on the site, but I'll definitely be highlighting the major cinema industry reviews (like the important ones from Hollywood Reporter and Variety magazine - see below) and the major ones from the UK, US and Australia. Mamma Mia!, the show fashioned from the Abba songbook, is the only mega-musical to have proved itself unstoppable without any assistance from anyone called Lloyd Webber or Mackintosh, or any affiliation with Disney. Or, indeed, without any help from men at all (unless you thank Björn and Benny for the music).

Mamma Mia!
Sir Tim spells it out in the programme that was sold at the Royal Albert Hall.

The story of Chess (the Musical) is a turbulent one. At times it has been a lesson in how not to produce a hit show. There is more than enough material: suspense and drama, lashings of tears and heartbreak, a galaxy of sparkling personalities (to put it tactfully) and a bunch of terrific tunes.

Sony to be the official technology partner for ABBA the Museum

Press Release from ABBA the Museum:
