Benny Anderssons Orkester have lined up a concert in Sweden on 25 August, 2012 at Vaksala torg, Uppsala. The show will be part of the musical festivities set up over two days to commemorate the life and times of nyckelharpa (“key fiddle”) player Eric Sahlström.

Sahlström contributed greatly to the renaissance of the nyckelharpa in modern times, devoting much of his life to the instrument before his death in 1986. He would have been 100 years old next year.

Benny took delivery of a nyckelharpa himself on Christmas Eve, 2009. The instrument was played by Cajsa Ekstav and Cecilia Österholm on the song Brudmarsch on the latest BAO album O klang och jubeltid.
