Björn on board for Hjälp sökes

Help wanted? Help found! Björn joins the team.

Stockholm’s Orionteatern has confirmed that Björn Ulvaeus is writing all the lyrics for the new musical Hjälp sökes.

He is joining the existing creative team of Benny Andersson (music), Kristina Lugn (script), and Lars Rudolfsson (production).

A recent press release from the theatre announced:

“Björn has expressed an interest in the show from the start and so it was natural for him to become involved. We are extremely pleased and proud that these four amazing artists will come together to celebrate the Orionteatern’s 30th anniversary. With Björn and Benny’s patented musical formula, Kristina Lugn’s poetic story-telling and Lars Rudolfsson’s magical design, Hjälp sökes will be a unique project.”

Whilst, Benny, Björn and Lars have previously collaborated on CHESS and Kristina från Duvemåla, and Kristina Lugn has provided the lyrics for several pieces of Benny’s music (most notably Vilar glad i din famn, and En skrift i snön) this will be the first time they have all worked together.

Hjälp sökes stars Johan Ulveson, Sofia Pekkari, Magnus Roosmann and Suzanne Berdino and two cows, a goat, a horse, three dogs and three geese.

Two middle-aged peasants who are brothers grappling in vain with the existential questions of life and running a household, place an advert in the local press for help. They get the assistance of a mother, her daughter and a goat. Then everything goes to hell in ways you cannot imagine.

Hjälp sökes premieres at Orionteatern on 8 February 2013.
