Benny’s music for ‘Palme’ documentary wins Swedish film award
January 21, 2013
Benny Andersson has tonight picked up the award for ‘Best music’ at Guldbaggen – Sweden’s film industry award ceremony, for his score to the documentary Palme (Älskad och hatad).
The film about Sweden’s ex-prime minister Olof Palme was released in September 2012.
Benny was presented his award by one of Sweden’s biggest female stars and Eurovision winner Carola. Benny joked during his acceptance speech that it was unfair that someone over 65-years old should win the award because it was a struggle remembering the names of the people he needed to thank!
Below are some pictures of Benny going up to the stage to collect his award. Many thanks to Niclas Ericsson for the news.
The music is included in the latest BAO CD “O Klang och Jubeltid” the track called “Sorgmarsch”.
It is uploaded on You Tube here:
(starts at 2:22 but before another beautiful piece also included in the same CD)
