ABBA – The Official International Anniversary Party, which will be held at London’s Tate Modern museum, is being organised in conjunction with Max Ström Publishing who will use the event as the launch for what has been described as one of the most prestigious music books ever produced, ABBA – The Official Photo Book.

In addition to the book launch, the party will feature a one-day only ABBA exhibition and an ABBA disco.

  • Hmmm

So, i booked to see Mamma Mia in case an Abba member attended, and now there it the party. What to do.

I wish there were more information. How long does the party last, because i could go after Mamma Mia? What time does the special exhibition open. It’s ok spring surprises but if an Abba member come to London I’d like to see them…

  • Ok same problem here They launch this event with not many details about whats happening.phoned ticket office very vague woman knew nothing about it ask manager who only thought it was a private invite party event no joy there But from what I can gather its a launch party for the publishers of the official photo book plus abba tribute band and disco with small exh of unseen photos etc More detail nearer the time of the big anniversary

  • Hi to Damo and Dave Pyper,

I share your concerns/queries but then I thought that getting to meet possibly 1000 ABBA fans under one roof is quite a rare event in any case and worth £25, so I bought a couple of tickets – now where did I put my walking stick?

    Regards

  • i bought a ticket for the party as it will be good if it’s officially Abba sanctioned.. Don’t expect an Abba member to be there as there won’t be any. That’s official too.

  • Anyone with a spare ticket?

  • Bjorn has just made a statement a day ago “hinting” that 1 or 2 Abba Members will be there.

Bjorn had better start giving accurate information about international events or there is going to be a lot of Abba Fans who are going to start really hating him, we have been played with and toyed with long enough by him, over a lot of things.

We are all adults with real lives and for most of us, limited money. If Fans want to go to this once – in – a – lifetime event from outside of England, or outside of Europe, they will have to make plans soon, including time off work. For most of us, it means spending a lot of money.

Bjorn played and toyed with a lot of Adult Fans who went to the Opening of the Abba Museum, some came from overseas. I was one. If he wants the Abba Legacy to remain untarnished, he can stop playing games. Immediately.

The ideal situation would be for Agnetha and Anni-Frid to attend Tate Modern. They have not attended anything together since the Swedish Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Prize in early 2009. Benny has said he is not nostalgic, Bjorn was the hidden and secret centerpiece failure of the Abba Museum Opening. I was there. I witnessed it.

Aggie and Frida. We all love them.

  • Hello everyone!!

I tried to purchase tickets for the Tate, but because I paid with a foreign card, I did not go back to authorise it later (busy with work, and my real life :() and so I lost my booking :(:(:( I thought that this would be ok, because I got tickets to go to Stockholm to go to the choir event in the hope one of the 4 would turn up. Now I hear that “2” members are heading to the Tate, and I am absolutely heartbroken to miss out on this opportunity…
Would any kind soul have purchased more tickets than they need for the Tate, that I could buy?
    Thank you!

They stayed at the Grand in ’74 of course, so I’m hoping we have their room! It is also Agnetha’s birthday weekend.. Maybe a chance encounter in one of the hotel lifts like in Abba- the movie? Oh well..wish me luck folks! Good luck to those travelling far and wide to meet their idols…
