A little fun clip of Benny Andersson at the piano, filmed earlier this year in Stockholm. I don’t know about you but I didn’t want him to stop!

He really is a beautiful player. I wish he’d release an album of him playing piano. I could listen to him all day.

Still having vain hopes of album of Benny and his piano alone together.

With the risk of swearing in church, I sometime wonder why Benny doesnt have the skill for putting out an pianosonata. One thing, since he Doesnt write music IT makes IT diffucult. Second he has à melodic way of thinking, he doesnt think in à arcitectual way thats required for doing more heavier format like a sonata. Third, he doesnt have the skills for pianoplaying required to execute (when composing) such à piece. Fourth his composing style,way of thinking is in linear note-for-note melodies, although swinging and beautiful, never harmonic advanced or polyphonic, he doesnt compose with unconvetional colouring chords etc. Fifth, he lack the willpower to do it, he lack the courage to try and failure. IT would have Been better if he tried at least. A piece like flickornas rum or tittis sång is like à lullaby when compared to à schubert sonata:-/ no one Would be happier Than me if he pulled IT of!

I would be thrilled if he ever did release a solo album of just him and his piano, or with a back up orchestra. He is an amazing songwriter with such a brilliant ear for charming soul touching melodies. It doesn’t have to be some fancy poo poo show off of skill, I just want to hear the man play from his heart, because that is what gets me every time.
